1 – User Data Collection and Handling

Roam Taxis Ltd collects the following user data:

Data provided by users – for example, data given in the process of app account registration;
Data created by users in the process of using app services, like geopositioning, data about app operation and data about user’s device;
Data gathered from other sources – like business partners, financial services providers, and state authorities.

1.1 Data Provided by Users

User profile data, such as: first name, last name, email, mobile number, physical address, payment, and bank account data.
Checking documents and verifying driver’s identity might require checking licenses, photos, and driver’s full name;
Some data can be provided when users turn to technical support, this might include bank details, user device information, user app information, recordings of telephone calls, in case a user calls support, trip data (date and time, physical addresses, flight information).

1.2 Data Created by Users in the Process of Using App Services

Geopositioning data: We track geopositioning of drivers and passengers in order to organize a ride, provide maximum comfort and service level, provide safety and identify and prevent any fraud activity. Geopositioning is collected from mobile devices and only if users allow. Users can disable geopositioning, but this may result in poor service;
Transaction data: We collect data on transactions made due to using our services, this includes type of transaction, amount, date and time of transaction and card holder name;
App usage data: We gather data on how users interact with our app and services. This data includes data and time of logging in and logging out, app functionality, app failures and system data needed to improve app quality and performance;
Device data: We may collect data about the device which is used for access to our services, such as device model, IP address, unique device id, geo data and connection quality data.

1.3 Data Collected from Other Sources

This is data from business partners which provide additional services: payment providers, apps and websites which use our API or which API is used by our app;
This is data from business partners, such as travel data, including information about passengers or drivers;
State authorities data.

II. How Data is Used

Personal user data is used for:

Service providing;
Security providing;
Customer support;
Research and development;
Sending non-marketing messages;
Fulfilling legislation requirements and court orders;
Business process automation.

2 – Service Provided Using Data for Proving, Personalization, Support, and Improving of Its Services

2.1 Service Providing

Roam Taxis Ltd uses data for proving, personalizing, supporting, and improving its services, such as:

Creating accounts and changing its data;
Providing riding service (geopositioning data for service improvement), data exchange (calculation of arriving time, security providing, routes calculation, linking to flight information, tracking and sending information about a ride);
Payment processing and other financial data;
Performing operations which are needed in order to improve service and customer support, testing, analysis and also monitoring of services used;

2.2 Security Providing

Roam Taxis Ltd uses data for providing security and protection of users and also security for our services. This includes:

Passing of driver name and photo to passengers in compliance with government requirements;
Using data from drivers and passenger’s devices in order to evaluate journey safety and reminding our drivers of best practice where necessary;
Using data from drivers and passenger’s devices in order to identify and prevent any fraudulent activity, such as; fraudulent accounts and cases when our services are used for illegal purposes, and prevent unauthorized access to our user’s accounts;
Using rating systems for the evaluation of drivers and passengers to prevent colliding users with potentially high risk of conflict;
Sending information about serious violations to third parties such as police authorities – in accordance with legislation requirements.

2.3 Client Support

Roam Taxis Ltd uses personal data, application data, systems, and devices to provide technical support and improve quality of its services.

2.4 Research and Development

Roam Taxis Ltd uses personal data to perform testing, research, analysis, development, and improvement of its services. This helps us to make our services better and more secure and develop new functionality.

2.5 Sending Non-Marketing Messages

We can use personal data to inform our users about changing of terms and rules, and also for sending non-marketing messages which are needed to provide services.

2.6 Fulfilling Legislation Requirements and Court Orders

We can use personal data to settle litigations and court orders associated with using of Roam Taxis Ltd services, fulfilling law orders, in cases when data is required by public authorities, including police.

2.7 Automation of Business Processes

Roam Taxis Ltd uses personal data for automation of business processes, such as:

Driver assignment. Drivers can be found based on availability, driving time and other factors taken into consideration, as well as based on statistical user data;
Eliciting users who are suspected in fraudulent activity or any other activity which may cause harm to Go Roam Taxis Ltd. In cases when users provide false information or fake license details this may lead to disabling the user account after a specialist performs their checks;
Using of driver’s data (their geopositioning, rating) and passenger’s data (departure location, rating) to eliminate collisions of users with high risk of conflict.

III. Using Cookies

Roam Taxis Ltd uses Cookie files in order to:

Perform user authentication;
Save user settings;
Keep history of bookings and other historical user data;
Display a language in web-site interface according to your geographical position.

Cookie is a small piece of data which is sent by a web-service and stored on a user device (i.e. personal computer, mobile phone, tablet).

IV. Transfer and Disclosure of User Data

Roam Taxis Ltd performs data transfers to other users or provides data on demand in cases where it falls under law requirements or when it is required to satisfy claims or settle dispute resolutions. Roam Taxis Ltd can transfer user data in the following cases:

3 – To Other Users

To perform a booking we may give to a driver your name, email, telephone, information about pickup location and destination location;
To perform a booking we may give to a passenger your name, photograph, licence number, cab brand and model and cab registration number.

3.1 To Suppliers and Business Partners

Roam Taxis Ltd may transfer booking details to its partners via API integrations;
We also transfer data to credit card transaction providers.

3.2 Providing Data Under Legislation Grounds or in Dispute Cases

Roam Taxis Ltd may disclose personal data, in cases when legislation requires to do so, in court disputes, or when public authorities, including police, require this.

3.3 Cases When Users Allow Sending Data

Roam Taxis Ltd may send data to third parties, in cases that go beyond this Agreement, if we have informed you about our intention to send data and you have allowed this.

3.4 Storage and Extermination of Data

Roam Taxis Ltd stores personal data up to the point where the purpose of its processing which are described in this Agreement are met. Users can at any time send a request to delete their account. However, Roam Taxis Ltd may store personal data even after performing a user request in order to meet legislative requirements. To delete your account, send a request to the roamtaxi@gmail.com.

4 – Data Access and Data Collection Refusal

Roam Taxis Ltd gives the possibility to users to review settings of data collection and manage them through the following:

Device permissions. You can manage app permissions in Device settings -> Apps -> Permissions -> Choose permissions.

4.1 Geopositioning Data

Users may allow or not allow collecting geopositioning of their mobile devices.

4.2 Permission to Camera

The camera is used to scan credit card details at the time of booking payment. The payment process is provided through the financial service provider’s SDK.

4.3 Permission to Location

This is information on the driver's geographical position, which is collected even when the application is not actively in use but the driver is logged in. This information helps in efficiently matching drivers with ride requests, optimizing driver allocation based on demand and supply dynamics, and providing location-based services such as route optimization and real-time tracking..

We do not collect precise geolocation data. We use only the approximate location data obtained from your device's default location provider. We start collecting your location data when you log in to the application

We continuously monitor the driver's location throughout the ride, enabling us to take immediate action if any safety concerns arise. This ensures your safety and well-being are always prioritized

During your ride, we use your location data to allow you and the driver to track the progress in real-time, providing you with greater peace of mind and transparency.

By understanding your location preferences, we can personalize your experience within the app by recommending nearby restaurants, showing estimated wait times, and offering relevant suggestions based on your location.

We analyze your location data, along with other user information, to identify areas with high demand for rides. This allows us to optimize driver dispatch and continually improve our services.

The ability to navigate to pick-up and drop-off locations, give passengers real-time location updates, and optimize route choices for efficient driving all depend on this permission..

This refers to the approximate geographical data collected when Passengers use the application. It helps us provide location-based services such as finding nearby drivers, estimating trip durations, and optimizing routes

Ride Requests: Information about requests made by users for transportation services, including timestamps, pickup locations, and destination details. This helps us manage ride requests efficiently and ensure timely service provision.

4.4 Permission to Foreground Services

Drivers: Roam Taxi collects location data when the Roam Taxi App is running in the foreground (app is open and on-screen) or background (app is not in use) in your mobile device. For Captains, Roam Taxi collects location data only when the Captains have enabled the icon “On-Duty” on the Roam Taxi App.

We collect precise or approximate location data from your Device if you enable us to do so. Roam Taxi collects this data from the time a Service is requested until it is finished, and any time the app is running in the foreground of your Device. We use this data to enhance your use of Roam Taxi App, including to improve pick-up locations, enable safety features, and prevent and detect fraud. Even if you have not enabled us to collect location data from your Device, Roam Taxi collects the Captains’ location data collected during a trip, and links such location data with your account. This enables us to offer services to you, such as receipt generation and customer support, and enable safety of the Customers.

Why We Use Foreground Services Our app requires foreground service permissions to ensure uninterrupted user-initiated functionality, such as:

Live location tracking for navigation or deliveries, Real-time updates on ongoing tasks or processes, Active service notifications to keep the user informed, The foreground service is initiated by the user (e.g., starting navigation or requesting a ride).The user is aware of the service running in the foreground via a persistent notification.

Users have control over stopping the service through app settings.

4.3 Getting Data on Telephone Status

Users can allow/not allow access to telephone functions on their device. If this function is disabled, this will result in failure of sending requests from the Roam Taxis application.

5. Enable/Disable Notifications

Users can enable/disable notifications about ride status changes or account actions. Disabling notifications may result in lower quality of user experience with the Roam Taxis application.

4.4 Changes in Confidentiality Agreement

Roam Taxis Ltd has a right to make changes to this Confidentiality Agreement. If changes are significant, we will notify you via the Roam Taxis application or in any other available way, for example, by email. Use of our services after an update constitutes consent to the updated notice to the extent permitted by law.
